Behavior Health Coach for @Home Medical Weight Management

 

We are seeking Behavior Coaches to perform initial telehealth evaluations of candidates for suitability in our weight loss program. Behavior Coaches will also deliver a group based telehealth lifestyle behavior coaching program for weight loss and weight maintenance. The evaluations and coaching will be shared with our weight management team to foster an immersive environment in patients with increased body weight. Each Behavior Coach will see their patients with increased body weight and comorbid illnesses online to perform an initial evaluation and weekly group telehealth weight loss coaching sessions with our patients.

 

Behavior Coaches will have their own provider-patient web portal that provides a list of patients and their medical records. Behavior Coaches will use a state-of-the-art curriculum based on the latest scientifically proven techniques for weight loss and weight management.

 

Behavior Coaches will have access to dietary intake and physical activity values, measured, recorded, and tracked with AEGLE Palette electronic dietitian platform and Fitbit, Apple Watch, iHealth Labs, or HELO wearable technology.

 

Requirements for the Position:

  • Current state licensure as a behaviorist.

  • Must be comfortable with using computers (login, uploading documents, and completion of online forms), telemedicine, and electronic health records.

  • Comfortable with managing behavioral recommendations for various diets, including traditional low-fat, low-carbohydrate, anti-inflammatory, vegan, and vegetarian etc.

  • Comfortable with assisting in the management of behavioral recommendations for clients with varying degrees of physical ability and increased body weight.

  • Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for obesity-related medical conditions.

  • Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.

  • High level of comfort in working with primary care medical providers using a consultative style.

  • Ability to work through brief patient contacts with current forms of telecommunications including telephone, texting, and computer-based teleconferencing.

  • Good knowledge of psychopharmacology for obesity and related conditions.

  • Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected obesity-related mental and behavioral conditions.

  • Ability to design effective obesity-related psychoeducation curricula and lead effective psychoeducation classes.

  • Ability to train and teach effective behavioral health interventions and the primary behavioral health model to medical practitioners and other behavioral health providers.

  • Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent and equitable manner.

  • Ability to effectively represent company’s interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among coworkers and public, private and professional groups.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

 

Duties:

  • Perform initial consultations online to determine behavioral traits related to increased body weight and that inhibit weight loss.

  • Weekly online group (or individual) sessions to coach using a curriculum that reviews weight loss behavior traits, tendencies, and techniques that will aid in weight loss.

  • Review of online behavior assessments and patient progress and give weekly online feedback to each patient to guide weight loss behavior.
