Exercise Health Coach for @Home Medical Weight Management
We are seeking Exercise Coaches to perform telehealth evaluations of weight loss candidates and to deliver a group based telehealth lifestyle exercise coaching program for weight loss and weight maintenance. The evaluations and coaching will be shared with our weight management team to foster an immersive environment in patients with increased body weight. Each Exercise Coach will see their patients with increased body weight and comorbid illness online to perform an initial evaluation. Also, Exercise Coaches will perform weekly group telehealth exercise sessions for our patients.
Exercise Coaches will have their own provider-patient web portal that provides a list of patients and their medical records. Exercise Coaches will use a state-of-the-art curriculum based on the latest scientifically proven techniques for weight loss and weight management.
Exercise Coaches will have access to physical activity values, measured, recorded, and tracked with activity data from Fitbit, Apple Watch, iHealth Labs, or HELO wearable technology. Activity and physiological data will be integrated with diet data obtained with the AEGLE Palette electronic dietitian platform.
Requirements for the Position:

Current state licensure as an Exercise Trainer.

Must be comfortable with using computers (login, uploading documents, and completion of online forms), telemedicine, and electronic health records.

Comfortable with managing exercise recommendations for various diets, including traditional low-fat, low-carbohydrate, anti-inflammatory etc.

Comfortable with assisting in the management of exercise recommendations for clients with varying degrees of physical ability and increased body weight.

Excellent working knowledge of exercise medicine and evidence-based treatments for obesity-related medical conditions.

Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of physical conditions that affect exercise ability and tolerance, particularly as they relate to obesity.

High level of comfort in working with primary care medical providers using a consultative style.

Ability to work through brief patient contacts with current forms of telecommunications including telephone, texting, and computer-based teleconferencing.

Good knowledge of pharmacology for obesity and related conditions.

Ability to design and implement clinical exercise pathways and protocols for treatment of obesity-related conditions.

Ability to design effective obesity-related exercise education curricula and lead effective exercise education classes.

Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent and equitable manner.

Ability to effectively represent company’s interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among coworkers and public, private and professional groups.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Duties:

Perform initial consultations online to assess exercise ability and recommend exercise programs for weight loss based on the initial assessment for each patient.

Weekly review of online exercise records from wearable devices.

Give weekly feedback on exercise behavior adherence to guide weight loss in each patient.

Weekly online exercise instructional sessions for the patients.
